Full course description
In Unit 2: Family and Community: Living and Working Together! Unit 2 provides children an introduction to families and communities. Children will explore different family members and different types of families. Also, children will learn about family roles, such as caring for a pet or helping with chores. In addition, children will also discuss family homes. Children will learn about community helpers, including their roles and responsibilities. Children will identify their personal interests and begin to learn about their own emotions. In this course, you will:
- Identify the literacy and language, mathematics, and social-emotional learning skills children will learn in Unit 2,
- Analyze how you will use Unit 2 lessons, materials, and resources in your classroom,
- Explore how Read Aloud lessons are integrated into thematic learning throughout Unit 2,
- Plan for integrated Read Aloud instruction, and
- Prepare for Centers using lesson plans, materials, and resources.
