Developmentally Appropriate Technology Use in Pre-K

Course Description

Explore guidance for developmentally appropriate technology use in the prekindergarten classroom, including its role within the four pillars of the learning framework and the Every Child Ready Technology standards. Participants will examine how technology can supplement high-quality teaching and learning interactions and develop a plan for thoughtfully integrating it into their classrooms.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Identify the technology-based components of the four pillars of learning framework.
• Learn guidance for developmentally appropriate use of technology in the prekindergarten classroom.
• Understand that technology is a tool that can be used to supplement, not replace, high-quality teaching and learning interactions in the prekindergarten classroom.
• Understand the purpose of the Every Child Ready Technology standards.
• Apply your knowledge of best practices by planning technology implementation in your classroom.

Completion Requirements

To earn 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), participants must:

• Complete the asynchronous training course.
• Complete the course post-test with a score of 75% or higher.
