Book Knowledge Standards (On-Demand)

Course Description

Explore the purpose of the Every Child Ready Book Knowledge standards and strategies for supporting children’s understanding of books and print. Participants will plan engaging, book-based learning opportunities and examine how a print-rich prekindergarten environment can foster children’s exploration and appreciation of books.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Learn the purpose of the Every Child Ready Book Knowledge standards.
• Identify instructional strategies to support children’s knowledge of books and print using the Every Child Ready curriculum.
• Apply your knowledge of Every Child Ready Book Knowledge standards by planning book-based learning opportunities that foster children’s exploration and appreciation of books and print.
• Understand the importance of cultivating a print-rich prekindergarten classroom environment.

Completion Requirements

To earn 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), participants must:

• Complete the asynchronous training course.
• Complete the course post-test with a score of 75% or higher.

Practitioners may earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and/or PD hours, which can often be applied toward teaching certification renewals and other professional accreditations upon successful completion of course requirements.
